Little Magpie Music

Hi, I’m Teneha – a music educator, vocalist, and passionate advocate for early years music education. I specialise in teaching music to young children and empowering educators to confidently bring music into their early years settings. Whether you’re looking for engaging music classes for little learners or professional support as an educator, I’m here to help make music a joyful part of early childhood.

WHAT I DO

Services

01.

Early Childhood
In-Centre
Music Incursions

Offering music classes in early years settings, for babies, toddlers and kindergarten children. Enquire for more information on one-off incursions or a more regular music program.

Little Magpie Music sessions are fun, research informed and developmentally appropriate! We promote the many musical and non-musical benefits of active music making through singing, movement, playing percussion instruments, and puppet play. Our approach to music making is largely informed by the philosophies of Zoltan Kodaly and the First Steps in Music program by Dr. John Feierabend. Our music programs are designed to be sequential and promote a child’s musical and overall developmental over time.

02.

Professional
Development Workshops

Providing workshops for early years educators and teachers on how to make music with young children, 0-5 years old. Learn about the benefits of music making, and gain knowledge and skills on embedding developmentally appropriate musical activities in your early years setting.

03.

Parent/Carer and child Group music classes

Group music classes for children and the adults who love them are currently unavailable. If you are interested in being informed about any classes when they resume, please send us an email.

Everyone is welcome, respected and valued at Little Magpie Music.
Little Magpie music acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which we live and make music, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, and pays our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We also recognise the resilience and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and the continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
